Brett Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on the 10 October 1969. He is part of French ancestry and his mom Benita Anne was from France.
Favre attended Hankook North Central High School, where he started for the baseball team and played several positions for the football team including quarterback. Unfortunately for him, the Hancock football team had a run-oriented offense which meant that far rarely threw more than five passes in a game.
However, Mark McHale, the assistant coach of Southern Miss watched Favre during a game, after receiving recommendations from nearby coaches. McHale observed the run-oriented offense and was about to leave.
